From Hub's nuts last night to the mutt's nuts this morning....now there's a link! Broke the 'drought' (ugh) last night....and this morning little dawgy is going to be castrated! Why do I LOVE that word so much. Yes, that 'c' word. Well, not so much love it, just that saying/typing it makes me smile? Wickeeeeeeed.

Al - re your comment below (KT Tunstal's video) I'm no big fan of Des'ree at all - her songs have been catchy but that's it for me. Life? It's okay - not a favourite of mine at all. Very wishy-washy, boring....almost downright drab/been-there-before. Nothing special at all. Perhaps she has a big family and they all bought lots and lots of her record (downloaded etc.)? lmao. Gawd knows, as I say - I'm with you on this one...I just don't get it! OOOPS! I forgot - don't believe everything you read on Wikipedia....apparently I've read in the national papers that there can be many factual errors on it. So, as to whether it was really at the top for so long, errr...perhaps that needs to be investigated as I really don't know if that's true! (Hopefully NOT! lol)

It's pissing down with rain outside. We were going to go on a picnic in the grounds of a carehome this morning/afternoon with Hub's father and step mother - visiting an elderly relative of Hub's, but it looks like that idea has been literally washed out. We'll still visit the relative, though, but go a little later. Hub's dad remarried a couple of years ago. His new wife is nice but rather 'stern' if you know what I mean. They are both church goers, which myself and Hubs are not (don't infer anything either way there, because I really don't mean anything - ??? what DO I mean lol??). Hub's dad rarely rings him, and when he does it's always FOR something, i.e. can you do this, can you get me that. It does tend to niggle Hubs but he keeps it 99.9% hidden from his father/family. On the other hand, my parents (my mum really) just ring to chat, and give-give-give. We don't get to pick our parents and on all other accounts both sides are lovely. But I know that the point of the phone call business does get to Hubs - funnily enough it doesn't bother me, apart from when he says "we haven't seen my parents in ages - we're ALWAYS seeing your parents" - and in the end I reply (after I'm wound up by it) "that's because my parents invite us there, and your dad doesn't". Ouch. Gotta hurt. Sorry. Doesn't the truth scratch sometimes?

It's raining outside, and my son's due to go football training this morning....I don't think it would be fair to take him in THIS crappy weather. I just hope it stops raining in the next hour or two. He needs to get back into training so that he's on 'top form' for when the matches restart. He has a friendly match next weekend for starters.

I've been rather ploughing through my localish library's supply of Deen Koontz books. I've now read (as if you are bothered lol!!!) False Memory, Life Expectancy, The Taking, The Face, Odd Thomas and I'm curently on By the Light of the Moon. Good stuff! I'm finding I have to have almost complete silence when I read now, which is sort of strange because when I started reading him I didn't need it, in fact a friend commented on it, asking how I could read with the tele on in the background, and the children shouting/chatting/running around! Oh well. I'll try and keep reading with noise all around, to get back into desensitive mode...weird.

Saw the latest Harry Potter film, which I thought was a little bit of a let down. Maybe because there were so many interruptions it spoiled the continuum, if you know what I mean.

My daughter stopped at a friend's house last night. She went swimming until quite late with them and I expect her to be absolutely knackered when I pick her up later on. Children never get enough sleep at these so called 'sleep overs' - a misnomer if ever there was one! They should be renamed 'hardly-any-sleep overs', or 'sleepless overs', or 'stay-up-most-of-the night overs', or....okay. Enough!!!!

We had tons of blackberries from a little expedition last week and most of them have been frozen. I may try and make some jam, but I'm a little worried that it might go to waste if it's not eaten say within 2 weeks - due to lack of preservatives - mind you isn't sugar a really good 'natural' preservative? I might just have to google and see what the situation is with home made jams, i.e. lasting without going mouldy.

My best friend and my sister have now departed for the last two weeks of the summer holidays - each with their families to different destinations. They both have 3 children each who play with my kids when they come over. My eldest son complained about it and said that he won't have them to play with now because they're away.

I can't wait until the shops start getting in more winter stuff. I need a few long sleeved tops. Why is it that I have many more short sleeved or sleeveless tops than long sleeved? Hah, the boring thoughts of a dreary housewife *chuckles*.

My mum told me that her favourite perfume (Elizabeth Arden's Blue Grass) has now been discontinued. It's a pleasant fragrance. I'm trying to get some for her birthday in a few weeks time. Thank goodness for Ebay!

I feel mean. Why? I better explain. I've just chanced across a blog - not naming names, because I'd feel more of a meany by doing so - and it got me chuckling. The spelling/words were funny. Examples "......had Colin cancer...." I mean Colin friggin' cancer???? (colon cancer of course, unless there's a new type of cancer out there that only people called Colin get?). ".....off to the pair bedroom....." PAIR bedroom? (spare bedroom) Isn't a 'pair bedroom' just about the opposite in meaning of what a spare bedroom usually is (i.e. it's a small room with usually just the one bed in it, hence not a place for a pair of people? :S). I'm a bit of a cow, BUT I will continue reading that blog....don't ask.

Must be my most favourite CT character - so much of her is so true to life of the old people from where I used to live, as a kid.

I need to change. My personality. I hate myself. I'm so very easy to anger, and so very easy to cool down. In a flash. An Italian temperament within an 'English rose' skin. Gets me into soooo much trouble with Hubs, who sees the Real Me far more often than anybody else on this globe. Okay, I don't totally hate myself because, like everybody, I have some good points...but my capacity for fiery behaviour is just so deeply embedded, I fear change is nigh impossible. But I continue to strive to make a change, with splodges of inevitable failure along the way.
